Jim Crowley is the managing partner and founder of OT Catalyst. Jim’s extensive experience in operational technology security dates back to 2010 when he took a role as VP of Sales at Industrial Defender, the first cyber security company to bring OT security products to market.
Since that time, Jim has had a number of assignments bringing to market OT products and services to industrial companies in the OT security space including compliance software, network intrusion detection systems, MSSP services, and software defined networking technology.
In addition to bringing to market innovative products and services to the OT security market, Jim was involved in several M&A events including the sale of Industrial Defender to Lockheed Martin in 2014, the acquisition of Security Matters by Forescout in 2018 and the carve out of Industrial Defender from CapGemini in 2020 where he took on the role of investor, board member and CEO.
Jim’s background also includes working with IT infrastructure software including secure content management products, application firewalls, and configuration management tools. Jim’s initial role after completing his studies at Siena College was as an industrial products sales person with the A.W. Chesterton company, calling on power plants, auto manufacturing, water works, paper mills, government facilities and shipyards.
